After discovering mold in its Police Department, the city of Elgin brought in Mooring Disaster Restoration to remediate and restore its building. Mooring identified multiple roof leaks that had led to mold spreading throughout the facility, compromising significant swathes of the ceiling and surrounding walls. Mooring removed a second-floor window to allow for debris removal and negative air pressure chambers along with the removal and disposal of sheetrock walls from offices, interview rooms, and the staircase. Following the demolition and remediation of all affected areas, Mooring then restored the building to its original state, in compliance with the Texas Department of State Health Services’ “Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules.”
