Water Damage
A restoration race against the clock.
Water damage is the most time-sensitive of restoration services. Given the right environmental conditions, mold will begin to bloom within 24-48 hours, even from “clean” water intrusion.
Mooring Disaster Restoration prides itself on our ability to respond to water disasters immediately and virtually anywhere across the continental U.S.A. Our established disaster restoration and water mitigation protocols help clients stop further deterioration, reduce business interruption, and control recovery costs.
Procedures include finding and arresting the source of the water intrusion, stabilizing the environment to control humidity levels, water extraction, dehumidification and drying, content and structure cleaning, and deodorization.

Vidor ISD
Following Hurricane Harvey and Tropical Storm Imelda, Vidor ISD was left with catastrophic damage to seven schools and administrative buildings.

WATER DAMAGE
RESTORATION APPROACH
When water damage happens – the first step on the road to recovery is to remove it. Mooring Disaster Restoration employs various methods for water extraction and water damage mitigation.
High-Velocity Water Pumps (aka V-pumps) is one method for water extraction. A commercial submersible water pump is capable of moving unwanted water, mud, and other liquids at a rate of up to 4500Lt/hr. with optimal water pressure. The V-pump requires no electricity and serves as an extremely powerful pump where power supply may be limited or not readily available.
Mooring Disaster Restoration teams are trained to assess the damage to building structures and employ state-of-the-art technology such as drones, 360° cameras, and infrared moisture mapping to deliver the most comprehensive post-storm assessment. In coordination with our clients, Mooring will communicate a damage assessment for all structures affected and recommend an effective recovery and reconstruction plan.

Document Recovery
All is not lost in a loss.
Mooring has set protocols for the recovery of damaged documents. Immediately, we want to create a state of preservation by boxing and freezing the affected materials on-location. Depending on the quantity of items, they are recovered on-site or transported to a secure facility for restoration. Services also include reproduction, copying, scanning, sanitizing, deodorizing, encapsulating and if needed, certified destruction.
When dealing with document recovery Mooring has been very successful in saving those documents that are considered valuable and restorable including vital records, personal files, medical records, files, books, and other media.
When documents become damp, wet, or are in contact with corrosive soot by-products, they can deteriorate quickly. Some of the methods used in document recovery include Air Drying, Desiccant Air Drying, Vacuum Thermal Drying, Freeze Drying, and Vacuum-Freeze Drying.
