Mold Damage
Seeing what others don’t is what makes us different.
Mold spores are everywhere. They lie dormant waiting for the right conditions to bloom. Understanding that mold needs just two things to grow; moisture and a food source makes it easy to understand how mold can appear anywhere.
Many building materials and contents can serve as a food source and once mold growth begins it will amplify quickly. Mooring Disaster Restoration technicians see what others don’t. We are specifically trained and certified to remove the affected materials and contain the spores during the remediation process to prevent them from spreading to uncontaminated areas of the structure.
A CERTIFIED SAFE SOLUTION TO MOLD
Addressing a mold problem for a building owner/occupant follows a strict safety protocol and progression set. This progression will involve a mold consultant and a mold remediation contractor and include the following key steps:
- Assessment
- Mold Remediation Protocol and Development of
- Mold Remediation Plan
- Notification
- Remediation
- Final Clearance Assessment
Before remediation is accomplished by the removal of all identified contaminants, the cause of the original amplification of mold needs to be addressed. Regardless of the scope of restoration needed, Mooring uses only certified approaches and procedures to root out and correct the causes of your mold problem.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) worn at all times according to the sitespecific safety plan
- Security controls to maintain containment areas
- Structure and content remediation guidelines
- HEPA filtration systems and respirators
- Containment barriers and dehumidification
- Protocols for disposal of contaminants and discarded materials
- Testing and clearance protocols
And If repairs or changes are necessary in the building structure to prevent the recurrence of contamination, rest assured you’re in good hands when you’re in ours.

Document Recovery
All is not lost in a loss.
Mooring has set protocols for the recovery of damaged documents. Immediately, we want to create a state of preservation by boxing and freezing the affected materials on-location. Depending on the quantity of items, they are recovered on-site or transported to a secure facility for restoration. Services also include reproduction, copying, scanning, sanitizing, deodorizing, encapsulating and if needed, certified destruction.
When dealing with document recovery Mooring has been very successful in saving those documents that are considered valuable and restorable including vital records, personal files, medical records, files, books, and other media.
When documents become damp, wet, or are in contact with corrosive soot by-products, they can deteriorate quickly. Some of the methods used in document recovery include Air Drying, Desiccant Air Drying, Vacuum Thermal Drying, Freeze Drying, and Vacuum-Freeze Drying.
